Character: Nathan Wallace

Series: Repo! The Genetic Opera

Version: 2008 Movie, right before death.

Age: 40.

Gender: Male.

Nathan was a fairly tall man, measuring in at 6' 6''. Overall he was pretty lithe despite his occupation and the work involved. He was a middle aged man, nearing his 41st year, but surprisingly in shape for his age. Nathan's somewhat miss-matched eyes were usually framed in thick glasses. Those eyes were pretty weird, while normally green, the left one does have a strange brown patch in it, which was quite noticeable. His hair was thinning and slightly gray as a sign of age, but just because he was 40, didn't mean he wasn't dangerous.

Upon arrival there was only one outfit he had on him, his uniform. The outfit was made out of heavy leather, complete with thick black gloves attached at either shoulder. It wrapped around the male's body nearly like a robe, and was connected by thick belts on the opposite side. A patch was worn on his upper arm, the name 'GeneCo' etched onto the fabric. The collar of the outer-ware was surprisingly high, fitting him like a turtle neck, and clasped on the opposite side much like the front portion. Under the outfit he wore a plain light blue shirt with, and black pants

He wore also a pair of black work boots, which were sturdy enough for good traction.

I kill. Nathan is a two faced man, living double lives separate from one another. He suffers from a multiple personality disorder brought on by trauma. Nathan feels the need to dissociate himself with his more brutal actions, hence he forcefully split his personality to deal with it. He can't face the fact that it's him doing all these awful things, and developed the split because of it. He suffers from small bouts of amnesia during personality shifts, and often has pseudo-hallucinations (internal dialogue between personalities). Amnesia is fairly rare in his case, but does occur, most of the time he's aware of what he's doing while his other personality is active, but feels like he's not in the 'driver's seat'. This is rare in IRL multiple personality disorders, but hay, this is fiction and he shows enough signs to qualify.

One side of him is soft spoken and haunted. This personality, by the name of Nathan, goes about his life in regret and blames himself for circumstances beyond his control. He is viciously over protective of his family, to extreme points. Even though this character is taken post canon, he still feels the need to protect any version of his daughter from harm. He does try to control the lives of people close to him, only for their own benefit, but usually he ends up harming them. He's a misanthrope, believes that the world is cruel, and is distrusting. Secretly he's terrified of his other persona, and loosing control.

He's a very intelligent man who excels in medicine and pharmaceuticals. Nathan is well educated, keen, and smart. He also has a soft spot for his family, compassion is seen by hardly anyone else. Affection is only usually seen when regarding Marni and Shilo, but other people are distrusted.

When regarding strangers, he's a very stoic man who has a sorrowful 'air' about him, but can become irate himself when allies and threatened. He normally avoids long conversations, and small talk. Nathan speaks only when he has to.

There's..another side to him though, that he normally distances from herself. Repo is his opposing personality, and is nearly comical. Repo revels in bloodlust, violence, and playing cat and mouse with his prey. His sense of humor is a dark, barbed one, and he's much more laid back. The man enjoys his job even though he laments about it being 'thankless'. Repo has a totally different way of speaking than Nathan.

Repo is triggered by anger, and the urge to kill. Blood can spur the "hallucinations", as can gore. However, this personality is a less dominant.

Both sides share one thing, the love and obsessive protection towards family. Both have their own motivations, gestures, and speech pattern to the point where they're almost separate people.

After a switch from Nathan to Repo and back again, Nate is usually dazed and somewhat disoriented (as seen in the end of thankless job). Sometimes he feels guilty after these switches.

OH and did anyone notice that Night Surgeon is basically Nathan battling Repo down?
